You can use an opponent as a human shield in Black Ops 6 and exchange favors with your opponent while doing so.
How can you yell at your opponents? In Black Ops 6, you can use an opponent as a human shield who absorbs the bullets from your adversaries, thus unintentionally saving your life. Now, Treyarch has revealed just before the start of the Black Ops 6 Beta that you can communicate with your opponents while using this feature.
When a player uses another player as a living shield, it activates voice chat between the victim and the perpetrator. It doesn’t matter whether you are the hostage taker or the hostage. In both cases, you can talk to your opponent.
You can see how this interaction might look in the multiplayer trailer for Black Ops 6:
The open voice chat between hostage taker and hostage could lead to some funny moments, but it also has the potential for inappropriate and toxic behavior. Therefore, the developers write in their post on X.com: “Be nice.”
The community senses cool content and toxicity
What do the players say? Many players really like the idea and hope that it will lead to entertaining content:
- “This is the best thing I’ve read in my life. That’s why Treyarch are the GOATs [the greatest of all time].” – X.com
- “This will be a content goldmine and I am absolutely ready for it.” – via X.com
- “This will produce some of the greatest clips of all time.” – via X.com
- “Imagine grabbing an opponent in a round of SnD [Search and Destroy] and whispering sweet nothings in their ear while mowing down their teammates.” – via X.com
However, other players are also concerned that this feature could lead to a lot of insults and toxic behavior:
- “I can’t wait to be taken as a hostage while being insulted with the ‘F’ word a thousand times.” – via X.com
- “This is going to get extremely toxic, I can’t wait to see the clips” – via X.com
Some players are simply negative towards Call of Duty and condemn users who find the feature cool or are looking forward to Black Ops 6.
Treyarch really has a lot planned with Black Ops 6 and seems to be making the right adjustments to spark excitement in the community for the game. Whether the shooter can truly live up to the expectations set will perhaps be shown to us during the beta.
One change that Treyarch is making with Black Ops 6 in Call of Duty concerns unlocking new skins. You no longer have to level up your weapons if you want to unlock skins. Instead, you now have to complete specific tasks: Black Ops 6 makes major changes to the weapons so you can get cool skins even faster
