Fans have discovered a cool Easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout. In the battle royale, it is now possible to play with an old cult weapon from the zombie mode of Black Ops 2.
What happened? A few days after the launch of the new Operation Grand Heist , players stumbled upon a secret that adds a new old cult weapon to the arsenal in Blackout.
In the new area Ghost Town, fans discovered a way to equip the iconic Ray Gun Mark II and hunt other players with this space blaster.

What is the Ray Gun Mark II? The Ray Gun Mark II is a weapon highly favored by fans – originally from the zombie mode of Black Ops 2. According to the description, it comes from another time and another universe.
Now the developers have brought this cult object back to Black Ops 4.

The version in Blackout is essentially the same weapon as in the previous titles of the series, aside from minor visual differences. It fires bursts of 3 energy projectiles and has 60 shots in battle royale.
How to obtain the weapon: To get the weapon, you need to go to the new area Ghost Town in the southeast of the map. There, you need to go to the underground part of the map, which is based on the zombie map Buried. It was on this map that the Ray Gun Mark II first appeared in Black Ops 2.

Now you first need to find a thrown axe and take it to the bar. This is hard to miss. There you will see a dartboard on one of the walls. Stand on the white line on the floor in front of the board. Now you need to hit it in the bullseye with the axe.

If you succeed, like on the original Buried map, a piano piece will play. Now you need to visit Arthur’s jail cell, which is located at the other end of the underground village. The axe hit will open the cell door there.

Enter the cell and interact with the question mark that is painted on the wall. Then the weapon will appear, and you can pick it up.

How fans are reacting: As the first reports of the discovery of the iconic weapon came in, most thought it was a joke or clickbait. But when it became clear that the report was true, many fans felt nostalgia and joy.
Especially for long-time Black Ops and Zombies fans, this Easter egg is well received. Numerous players are excited about this cool feature and are enjoying the new special weapon in battle royale mode.
However, there is an increasing demand from Treyarch to bring this cult weapon to the zombies mode in Black Ops 4 as well. Many emphasize that they will not rest until the Ray Gun Mark II has found its way into the popular coop mode. Whether and when that will happen is currently unclear.
What do you think of this Easter egg? Have you been able to try out the new weapon?
