Foxhole is an MMO with thousands of players. On February 9, 2026, the next major update with airplanes is set to be released on Steam. This is expected to give the current player numbers a strong boost.

What kind of MMO is it? Foxhole is a multiplayer game in which thousands of players compete against each other. The game is oriented around World War II, which is reflected in its weapons, war machinery, and uniforms.

Foxhole became known when a campaign lasted up to 70 days and the developers had to intervene to bring it to an end.

Now the next major update for Foxhole has been announced: On February 9, 2026, airplanes will be added to the game.

What kind of update is this? Specifically, the update is called “Foxhole Airborne” and is quite extensive. According to comments on YouTube, it could be the largest update for Foxhole yet.

Aircraft must first be assembled individually in factories before they can be launched. With bombers, you can destroy entire regions, but defenders can also build air defense systems to take down your planes. Aircraft carriers have also made it into the game.

The focus of the update is on the new planes, but there will also be many improvements and innovations: new regions on the map to conquer, an expanded navy, and an updated graphics engine that makes the landscape look significantly more beautiful, at least in the trailer.

How is Foxhole doing currently? As of now, player numbers according to SteamDB fluctuate daily between 1,300 and 3,000 active players. Thus, Foxhole is not necessarily huge, but it has a small yet loyal fan base. After major updates, player numbers regularly increase significantly, reaching nearly 10,000 at times.
