With Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, a video game about the fantasy sport that fans already know from the books and movies is appearing for the first time in over 20 years.
What kind of game is this? Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a sports game set in the popular fantasy universe of wizards and witches, developed by Unbroken Studios. It is only the second of its kind since the PS2 game “Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup” from 2003.
You can choose between simple exhibition matches and a career mode. Both game modes can also be played online with up to three friends. For the competitive players among you, there is also the option to compete against other opponents.
The game will be released on September 3, 2024, for PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S, as well as for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store. A version for the Switch is also planned but will come later.

What does the trailer reveal? Your career begins with a self-created character in the courtyard of the Weasley’s Burrow, where you must win your first small tournament. Once that is accomplished, you will aim for the World Championship. In addition to this, there will also be three other cups.
Large Selection, Small Price
You can decide whether to compete for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. Each house will have some well-known characters from the books and movies on the field. Confirmed characters include Draco Malfoy, Cho Chang, Cedric Diggory, and Harry Potter himself.
There are still the four classic positions: Chaser, Seeker, Keeper, and Beater. Each role is said by the developers to have a unique playstyle. However, the rules of the game have been slightly adjusted: Catching the Golden Snitch will no longer guarantee victory, but at least will give you a significant lead in points.
Between matches, you can upgrade both your players and their brooms. New abilities are acquired through the use of skill points, while brooms require a special upgrade material. Additionally, there is a selection of different brooms, each of which is supposed to feel a bit different.
The developers have repeatedly emphasized that there will be no microtransactions in the game. With a standard price of 29.99 euros on Steam, that is quite a bargain, unless this promise changes.
For many fans, “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” is sure to awaken old memories.
