What game is it about? It is about Mage Arena: A new co-op PvP game that was released on Steam on July 24, 2025. As a wizard or warlock, you fight alongside and against other players, where you have to cast your spells out loud. So you need a microphone.

Exciting magic duels with a special twist
What is the game about? Wizards and warlocks battle in the eponymous Mage Arena to see which side is superior in the arcane arts. You join this millennia-old conflict on one of the two sides
So far, there are 2 different game modes: battles with 2 teams of 4 players each and simple duels. The special thing is that you have to cast your spells out loud for them to take effect:
- For example, if you shout “Fireball”, you cast a fireball.
- You can also give your spells custom names that you use in battle.
How is the game currently received? On Steam, Mage Arena has become a small hit. The game reached a peak of 13,450 concurrent players on July 29, just 5 days after release (according to steamdb.info).
The game also receives very good ratings from players: 95% of the reviews on Steam are positive. The fun concept of the game is especially praised. This comforts many despite the rather outdated-looking graphics and numerous bugs.

As exciting as the concept of the game is, it also brings problems. In discussions on Steam, many complain that players cast spells with racist insults. Also, the game currently seems to have trouble reliably recognizing female voices.
Mage Arena currently costs only €2.99 on Steam. The developer claims to have decided to lower the price due to the many bugs. It is supposed to cost €4.99 by default.
