NCIS is still a popular series today and will receive a new spin-off in just a few days. Two fan-favorites will be seen together again and must undertake an escape across Europe.
What kind of series is this? Tony & Ziva is an upcoming series set in the Navy CIS universe. In addition to the main series, which includes 22 seasons full of exciting characters, there are already several spin-offs, such as NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans or the prequel series NCIS: Origins.
In Tony & Ziva everything revolves around the titular investigators who were already part of the main series. Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo was part of the series from seasons 1 to 13 and returned for a guest appearance in season 21. The character was played back then and now by Michael Weatherly.
Ziva David, on the other hand, is portrayed by Coté de Pablo and made her first appearance in season 3. She left in season 11 but returned for several guest appearances.
Now the two are in the spotlight, much to the delight of the fans. For the producing studio Paramount, the first trailer has already broken an internal record. Across all channels, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and the CBS television network, the trailer garnered a whopping 93 million views (via deadline.com). And that in the first seven days.
This makes the trailer the most viewed announcement of a new series from Paramount. But what is it really about?
The Return of a Dream Couple?
What does the series tell? The two investigators Tony and Ziva have withdrawn after a dramatic moment in the main series – what exactly happened back then, we do not want to reveal for spoiler reasons.
In the meantime, they have a daughter named Tali and live what seems to be the perfect family idyll. However, an attack occurs, where Tony’s security company comes under the authorities’ scrutiny. He and Ziva suddenly become fugitives and must flee across Europe from the police and special forces.
As it says in the trailer, the series is supposed to be an entertaining mix of techno-thriller and romantic comedy. This means: alongside dramatic moments, humor should not fall short. The trailer sets the tone well, and Tony says in one scene, “We are like Bonnie & Clyde with better snacks.”
What do the fans think? Record-breaking views are one thing, the actual opinion of the viewers is another. But here, too, the excitement prevails. The return of the two characters is celebrated and eagerly awaited in the comments under the trailer on YouTube:
- “Whoever came up with the idea of bringing these two together in a show is a complete genius. I can hardly wait to see them together again,” writes Leeloo5142.

The fans had to wait 12 years since the last appearance of the two, but on September 4, 2025, it will finally happen, and the series will start with three episodes in the first season. In Germany, the premiere will be simultaneously available on Paramount+. Subsequently, a new episode will be released weekly until the finale on October 23.
