The Server Slam of Diablo 4 is starting soon, marking the last test before release. If you were so cozy as not to uninstall the beta after the previous test, you save time now. As Blizzard confirms, a simple update is sufficient.
How do lazy gamers save time? From May 12th to 14th, the Server Slam of Diablo 4 will take place. However, you need to download the game, which can take quite a while – unless you still have the beta from the first tests installed.
In the blog post, Blizzard explains that an update is enough to play the Server Slam. Since the beta, there have been some buffs and nerfs and adjustments to UI and other functions. However, it seems you don’t have to download everything again.
How big is the beta? There are still no concrete numbers for the size of the Server Slam or the patch. So we also don’t know how much time you will actually save. However, the beta already had considerable sizes in the first test:
- 85 GB for PC
- 76 GB for Xbox and PlayStation
It was possible, however, not to install the high-resolution 4K textures. This reduced the download to 41 or 37 GB. To find out how much storage space you need at release, check the system requirements for Diablo 4.
If you still need to download the entire game but have a slow connection, you should hurry. The preload starts on May 10th.

Server Slam: Just a patch for the beta
The content in the Server Slam is largely the same as in the beta. You can play all 5 classes and explore the prologue and act 1. However, the Server Slam only goes up to level 20, not as before up to level 25. The activities available to you include:
- 23 dungeons
- Quests and side quests
- Events in the open world
- World Boss Ashava every 3 hours starting Saturday at 6:00 PM
The drop rates for legendaries are lower in the Server Slam than in the beta and match those from the finished game. Otherwise, you can look forward to revised fonts and improved balancing.

If you play up to level 20, you also have the opportunity to earn all the rewards from the beta.
