What is Days Gone? – Currently reduced by 40% in the PS Store
Days Gone is the main title that Sony is promoting for the Platinum Weekend. What makes this game special?
This is Days Gone: It is a single-player game that combines action-adventure, survival, horror, and open-world elements. Days Gone was first presented at E3 2016, and three years later it was released exclusively for the PS4. The publisher is Sony Interactive Entertainment.
In Days Gone, you take on the role of bounty hunter Deacon St. John, who must survive in a ruthless, pandemic-devastated world.
The protagonist is one of the last surviving humans. Almost all life has been wiped out worldwide, and millions of people have been transformed into zombies, known as “Freakers.” However, these do not stumble around limply but instead run wild in hordes.
In addition to the fast zombies, you also have to deal with nasty humans and a partially infected wildlife. To stay mobile in this harsh world, your protagonist has a bike. You can get an impression of the game in this story trailer:
Who is Days Gone suitable for? According to GamePro, Days Gone does not reinvent the concept of an open world, but thanks to a brilliant combination of survival elements and third-person action, it is still “huge fun.” So, if you enjoy open worlds and zombies, you will have some fun hours with Days Gone.
How is Days Gone rated? In the PlayStation Store, Days Gone has earned 4.5 stars (out of a maximum of 5) based on over 4900 ratings. On Metacritic, it has only an average score of 71 (out of 100) based on 109 reviews. The user score is slightly higher at 80, based on over 4100 ratings.
