„I miscalculated“ Gamer buys a graphics card for 1,000 € and overlooks the most important detail

A gamer wanted to upgrade his PC and therefore bought an RTX 4080, but it does not fit in the case. Now he has posted his mistake on Reddit and caused a lot of attention and unusual recommendations.

What was the mistake? As the affected person explains in a Reddit post, he wanted to upgrade his PC. For this, he bought the €1,000 expensive graphics card RTX 4080 for his PC. 

However, when installing the graphics card, the gamer noticed that it was much longer than his entire case. Despite the €1,000 he paid for the upgrade, he could not upgrade his PC. Now the gamer has to invest even more money in his gaming PC to be able to use the graphics card.

The gamer becomes a laughing stock on Reddit

Why is the Reddit community upset? Most users sarcastically point out that manufacturers always provide the dimensions of the hardware parts on their sites and the user could have looked at them beforehand if he was already investing €1,000.

Others are bothered by the gamer’s dirty PC. The gamer’s computer is equipped with white parts, which are covered in dust. Reddit user Jeremoi says: “If you buy white components … please keep them clean. 😭”

Willard_swag agrees and writes: “The inside of your PC is disgusting, lol.”

What tips does the community have? The community continues to mock and says you don’t even need a new case for the PC. You can easily enlarge the case with simple means, for example with a hammer, a saw, or a grinder. Others join in on the tips and suggest tools like plastic knives, files, or simply taking a bold bite out of the case as options.

The user named Apprehensive-Ant8292 takes it a bit further and suggests: “You can buy an extension cable – external GPU.”

The gamer is not the only one who has spent a lot of money out of ignorance, a grandmother bought a game a total of 26 times because she did not know how to delete the save file.
