The new WoW add-on is proving to be a stress test for many relationships. A wise man has taken precautions and informed his wife comprehensively (and humorously).
The launch of Battle for Azeroth is approaching. On the night from Monday to Tuesday, the upcoming expansion of World of Warcraft will begin. Many fans have taken leave, are looking forward to vacations, or are “coincidentally sick.” However, for many gamers, there is another hurdle that needs to be appeased: their own life partner.
On Reddit, user Darthbane8488 has now caused a stir, as he published a letter he gave to his wife to ensure she is aware of all eventualities.
We have translated a few excerpts from the letter for you.
- “1. I still love you. Just because I spend a lot of time in the computer room doesn’t mean I’m watching porn or looking for a new woman. To be honest, I’m leveling a digital death knight in the hope of someday killing Sylvanas Windrunner.”
- “3. Dinner on launch night will be pizza and cola. I will get both myself if you want, but you get a pat on the back if you’re the one who brings me both.”
- “4. […] If I don’t reply immediately when you talk to me, I’m probably watching a cutscene or staring at the queue to get into the server faster. In any case – See point 1.”
- “5. My bedtime heavily depends on how the game goes. Know that I accept the consequences of my actions and am aware that it is a night after which I need to work. Rest assured, I will go to work even if I haven’t slept.”

Whether meant as a joke or completely serious – on Reddit, this letter has already earned him nearly 10,000 upvotes. Does that help appease his wife?
How do you balance World of Warcraft and your social environment? Will you also “really search” the first few days and have partners, family, and friends prepared for it?
