Mario Strikers: Battle League Football is a new game for the Nintendo Switch. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch does not own the console and has few connections to Nintendo. However, the latest video about the game excites him.
What makes the video so special? The commentator! Because the match that Nintendo published on its YouTuber channel is commented on by Frank Buschmann. And Buschi is, for me, one of the best and most emotional commentators in German football.
Since I was a small child, I have been a football fan. As a native of Gelsenkirchen, you hardly escape that. However, when you follow a match for 90 minutes, you mainly see boring passes.
However, in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, everything happens in quick succession. Accordingly, the commentary by Frank Buschmann is also entertaining. The constant action captivates me. If I had a Nintendo Switch, I would probably have bought the game after this video and pre-ordered it immediately.

What exactly kind of game is this? Battle League Football is the third part of the football series featuring the little plumber Mario.
- The game does not aim to be realistic, like FIFA, but focuses on fast action, boosts, and random items like the banana or the green shell, which you know from Mario Kart.
- Two teams with five characters each play against each other. You can play alone, in pairs, or even with up to eight players in local co-op.
- The game also has an online function and even the “Club Mode”, where you can create and play through your own season with up to 20 friends.
When will it be released? Mario Strikers: Battle League Football will celebrate its release on June 10, 2022. It will be released for the Nintendo Switch and costs 59.99 euros.
