“I do not want to return there” – “Elrond” explains why he does not want to watch Rings of Power

The 2nd season of The Rings of Power has officially started. The story takes place long before the Hobbit films. An actor who has appeared in 5 Middle-earth films currently has no interest in the new series, even though his character does appear in it.

Which actor is it? Since August 29th, the 2nd season of The Rings of Power can be watched. The series started with 3 episodes and a new one is released every Thursday. Several characters from the previous films also appear in the series.

One of these characters is Elrond, played by Robert Aramayo in the series. The character appeared in 5 of the 6 Middle-earth live-action films. Elrond was played by Hugo Weaving. As he explains in an interview, he has no desire to watch the new series.

What does Hugo Weaving say about The Rings of Power? In an interview with radiotime.com in connection with the new season of Slow Horses, he also spoke about The Rings of Power. He was asked if he had seen Aramayo’s performance. He responded with the following:

I haven’t seen him, and I apologize to Robert. No, I’ve been in Middle-earth for too long, and I don’t necessarily want to go back. I love New Zealand; I was recently back in New Zealand.

He explains that he does not have strong feelings about the role, as fans might. He knows how big the franchise and the films are, but for him, the role of Elrond is not solidified in his mind.

What else has Weaving done? The Lord of the Rings is not the only big franchise that Weaving has appeared in. In the Matrix trilogy, he played Agent Smith. Additionally, he has been seen in films such as V for Vendetta or Hacksaw Ridge.
