The map in the online shooter SCUM is 144 km² big. But that is only part of the entire game world, as the complete map has now revealed.
If you believe that the game world of an online game cannot be large enough, then you should keep an eye on the survival game SCUM. Because the actual world of the game is much larger than what you have seen so far.
The SCUM map is much larger than expected
This is how big the SCUM map really is: It can take quite a long time to traverse the 144 km² game world of the online shooter SCUM from one end to the other. But don’t think that this is everything. Because if you use the Admin Commands to be able to fly, you will see from the air that the part of the map you can currently traverse is just a section of an even larger map.
Although there is currently no official size specification, if you compare the entire map with what is currently walkable, the complete game world seems to be about four times larger. So there is certainly more to come.
Take a look at the map in the game yourself. To do this, you need to play on a private server or in single-player mode and then enter the following:
- Press the “T” key to open the chat
- #teleport Character-Name 0 0 1000000
- Press Enter
Vehicles make sense
This is why vehicles are being introduced: Currently, you only wander through the game area on foot. But with a game world that is actually four times larger than the area that exists now, vehicles make a lot of sense. You can’t just wander through a landscape estimated at 576 km² on foot. Additionally, there is an island visible in the northwestern part of the map. This suggests that boats and even airplanes are planned.
Developers have already hinted at vehicles: In a developer video on character creation, a glimpse of vehicle skills could even be caught. So one can assume that vehicles will play a significant role, and you will need to learn how to handle them. The better your skill with each vehicle type, the faster you will likely progress and the better you can maneuver. The following skills can be seen:
- Driving – With this, you will be able to drive cars
- Motorcycling indicates that motorcycles are planned
- Piloting means that you will pilot airplanes
- Sailing is the skill with which you steer boats
When we will get to see the other areas of the map and when vehicles will be introduced in SCUM – that is still not yet determined.
