How does the offering in RDO look? Online, there is at least as much to buy as in the single-player of Red Dead Redemption 2. As usual, you can select the items you want to buy in the various categories.

Gold bars are needed to buy special cosmetic items or unlock items earlier. They are part of the microtransactions that will follow later.
But how do you best earn quick money?
You earn money in Red Dead Online through almost every activity. Therefore, there are also various methods.
Repeat the missions
The authors of usgamer.net have played each of the available missions and noted which missions are the most effective for earning money.
These missions are the most rewarding:
- Kill Them, Each and Every One: This mission takes you to a region south of Armadillo, where you clear out a gang. It takes an average of 10-20 minutes, and players report rewards of up to $60 per mission. You can earn between $240 and $400 in an hour. On your first run, you also receive a reward of $250.
- Kerosene, Tar and Greed: This mission is not as effective as the previous one, but you have to take out many guards. With their loot, you can earn up to $35 per run.
- Highly Illegal Activity: Here, you hunt down a specific target and have to take them in. For your effort, you earn $70 per run.
Can you choose missions specifically? Unfortunately not. You can only activate a player search, which will randomly select a mission for you. You must search again each time if the desired mission is not available.
In general: Loot the corpses of your enemies. In missions and in free mode, you can obtain money, medicines, and valuables this way. Watches and jewelry can be sold for a good price. However, keep in mind that killing and robbing civilians can negatively affect your honor. This is how honor works in RDO.
Sell animal pelts
The hunt for pelts is also a useful method of making money in Red Dead Online. Pelts that are in good condition can fetch a decent price.
How do I hunt animals without damaging the pelts? The most important factor you need to consider when hunting is: What weapon do I need for which animal?
For small animals like rabbits, the Varmint Rifle is suitable. If you score a clean headshot, small animals will remain unharmed. The bow is also a good option to minimize damage to the pelt.

A spoonbill that you have caught with a perfect kill can bring you up to $11 per kill. It can happen that certain animals do not spawn in that area. You may need to distance yourself a bit to reset the spawns.
In Red Dead Online, an important tool is missing: In single-player, hunting is quite easy. You just have to make sure to always have a full Dead Eye gauge. With the slow-motion mode, clean headshots are rarely a problem.
This slow motion is absent in RDO. Therefore, you will need to be much more patient while hunting. Simply chasing animals with the horse and then shooting cleanly will rarely be possible. Therefore, sneaking during hunting is most advisable. A scoped rifle also makes hunting from a distance easier.
Make money through fishing
A clever player has shown on Reddit his method of quickly earning money through fishing. Allegedly, this method brings in $7.25 per 2 minutes of farming time – if you don’t dawdle.
This is how it works: At Blackwater, you can fish for sturgeons. However, you need a lake bait. You can easily catch the sturgeons at the harbor. Play PvP for gold bars
This is how you can farm gold bars: A user has calculated on Reddit how much time you need to invest to be able to buy all items with gold.
According to his results, you can farm gold the fastest by playing the Showdown mode. In this PvP mode, players compete against each other in a kind of deathmatch.
