The next monster debut will take place during an event in Pokémon GO. We will show you what content to expect and how to obtain the new monster.
What kind of event is this? The event named Steel Skyline starts on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM. It ends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
How do I obtain Duraludon? Duraludon will celebrate its debut in Pokémon GO during the event. It will appear in its Dynamax form. If you want to obtain the new monster, you can challenge it in Dynamax battles of level 4. With a bit of luck, you can also receive it as a reward in field research.
The monster has the types Steel and Dragon. Therefore, it is weak to attacks from the types Fighting and Ground. So focus on these monsters if you want to defeat Duraludon. To defend, you can use Zamazenta or Zacian in their new forms. Alternatively, you can use Blissey. You will likely need several trainers for the battle.

Global Challenge: There will be a global challenge during this event. Trainers worldwide must complete field research and demonstrate their throwing skills. Depending on the level reached, there will be various bonuses that will be active until the end of the event.
Rewards Level 1:
- additional candies when catching Pokémon with nice, great, or excellent throws
- increased chance of XL candies when catching Pokémon with nice, great, or excellent throws (from level 31)
Rewards Level 2:
- 5,000 additional experience points for successfully completed raid battles
Rewards Level 3:
- a guaranteed XL special candy when a Max Battle is completed on-site
Additional Content of the Event: Within the event, there will be special field research tasks. As a reward, you can encounter event Pokémon, with a bit of luck even Dyna-Duraludon. Additionally, there will be a free, limited-time research task. If you complete it, you will receive 1 magnetic lure module, experience points, stardust, and further encounters with event Pokémon.
For $1.99 (approximately €2), you can also purchase another limited-time research task. This will grant you Max Particles, stardust, an encounter with Dynamax Duraludon, and additional rewards.
