In Overwatch there are also Christmas gifts in 2019. Those who log in can secure five free loot boxes, giving them a chance for the new skins from the Winter Wonderland 2019.
How do I get the loot boxes? All you have to do is log in. Then you will receive five loot boxes as a gift. This was announced by the official Overwatch channel shortly after the end of the Yule Log Stream 2019 on Twitter:
However, you must be logged in by January 2, 2020, otherwise the loot boxes will expire. The Winter Wonderland event will also end then, and you will have no more chance for the new skins in additional boxes.
If you collect the boxes, you should also be able to open them without any issues later. The contents are usually generated when you receive the box, not when you open it.
Winter Wonderland Skins in Free Boxes
These skins from 2019 are available: In the boxes, you have a chance for various skins from the Winter Wonderland event 2019. There are four legendary skins that were introduced on December 10:
- Icerager Doomfist – a blue, Nordic-inspired giant
- Rat King Reaper (self-explanatory)
- Hoarfrost Sigma – a floating, barefoot Jack Frost
- Trapper McCree – an old, grumpy Western gunman
In addition to the skins, there are also other cosmetics such as poses, highlight intros, emotes, stickers, and sprays.
The epic skins Moira Festive, Ugly Sweater: 76, and Snow Angel Mercy are not included in the loot boxes. These can only be obtained through challenges to unlock. You can still earn Mercy until January 2, while the other challenges have already ended.
