We show you in our solo raid guide how you can defeat the current Level 3 Raids in Pokémon GO on your own.
Together with the 4th Generation, Niantic also introduced new raid bosses in Pokémon GO. In total, there are five Level 3 raid bosses, which, however, do not belong to the 4th Generation. We will show you which Pokémon you can use to take down the raid bosses.
You can find out which other raid bosses are currently active here.
Solo Guide for T3 Raids like Tangela, Machoke, Alolan Raichu
Three of the five raid bosses can be evolved in the 4th Generation, so it is quite important to battle the current raid bosses.
Porygon – Very Easy
- Max CP: 895 (1120 with weather bonus)
- Type: Normal
- Weaknesses: Fighting
- Best Counters: Machoke, Kapilz, Hariyama
- Alternative Counters: Lohgock, Mewtwo, Alakazam, Dragonite
- Notes: Porygon is probably the easiest Level 3 raid boss overall. With a team of Machoke at level 20, this raid boss can already be defeated. Those using Fighting-type Pokémon should not have any difficulties at all. Even Pokémon that generally have high attack can easily defeat this Pokémon.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
Glalie – Very Easy
- Max CP: 1305 (1631 with weather bonus)
- Type: Ice / Ground
- Weaknesses: Water, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Steel
- Best Counters: Kyogre, Machoke, Entei, Hariyama, Moltres
- Alternative Counters: Gyarados, Charizard, Flareon, Mewtwo
- Notes: Glalie likely shares the title of the weakest Level 3 raid boss with Porygon. Additionally, Glalie has many weaknesses. Every player has at least six Pokémon that are effective and can defeat Glalie. Here, too, players should not have any difficulties.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
Machoke – Easy
- Max CP: 1650 (2063 with weather bonus)
- Type: Fighting
- Weaknesses: Psychic, Flying, Fairy
- Best Counters: Mewtwo, Moltres (with Sky Attack), Rayquaza, Alakazam, Espeon
- Alternative Counters: Dragonite, Lickitung, Rossana
- Notes: Machoke should also be relatively easy to take down. Especially Mewtwo with Psychic attacks deals massive damage. Legendary Pokémon with Flying attacks are also good attackers. Trainers using the recommended counters against Machoke should not encounter difficulties during the raid.
- Difficulty: Easy
Alolan Raichu – Medium
- Max CP: 1224 (1531 with weather bonus)
- Type: Electric / Psychic
- Weaknesses: Ground, Dark, Ghost, Bug
- Best Counters: Mewtwo, Tyranitar, Gengar
- Alternative Counters: Groudon, Houndoom, Banette, Absol, Pinsir
- Notes: Alolan Raichu has many strong opponents against it. It is sufficient if the Pokémon mentioned above are at least level 25. If you use these Pokémon, you should be able to defeat Alolan Raichu as well.
- Difficulty: Medium
Tangela – Hard
- Max CP: 1262 (1577 with weather bonus)
- Type: Grass
- Weaknesses: Ice, Fire, Poison, Bug, Flying
- Best Counters: Moltres, Entei, Rayquaza, Charizard, Flareon
- Alternative Counters: Lohgock, Gengar, Arcanine
- Notes: Tangela benefits from a high defense value, making it quite hard to defeat. However, it also has many weaknesses. Fire Pokémon or the Legendary ones with Flying attacks can take Tangela down. It requires some experience to take on Tangela successfully.
- Difficulty: Hard
Prepare for the 4th Generation: Niantic wants to give players the opportunity with this wave of raids to secure good Pokémon that can then be evolved in the 4th Generation. Glalie, Tangela, and Porygon all receive evolutions, and it is recommended to have these Pokémon with good IVs.
Which 4th generation Pokémon are currently catchable, you can see here.
Are the raid bosses challenging you this time, or can you defeat them all without any trouble?
