The Fire Lord Ragnaros has entered the Nexus and is now available in Heroes of the Storm.
As of today (12/15/2016), the latest patch of Heroes of the Storm is live. This mainly brought the new hero Ragnaros, who is now available in HotS. The Fire Lord is a melee assassin who can also manipulate forts and even entire lanes to give his team a decisive advantage. Let’s take another quick look at Ragnaros’ abilities.
- The “passive” trait MOLTEN CORE (MC) allows Ragnaros to temporarily take over a fort to defend it in his true form. He gains enhanced abilities and deals more damage.
- With SULFURAS SMASH, Ragnaros deals a large portion of his damage. The spell ensures that the next melee attack is executed immediately, deals area damage, and heals Ragnaros for a small amount.
- While MC, the spell is replaced by MOLTEN SWING, which damages and stuns enemies in a large cone.
- LIVING METEOR summons a globe in the target area that deals damage and then rolls straight ahead.
- While MC, we have the ability to METEOR FALL, where multiple meteors fall from the sky in the desired direction, dealing damage and slowing affected enemies.
- The DEFLECTION is cast on Ragnaros himself or an ally and temporarily increases movement speed. After the buff ends, the target explodes, dealing damage to all enemies in the vicinity.
- While MC, the spell is replaced by EXPLOSIVE RUNES, which deal massive damage in a circular target area after a short delay.
- The first heroic ability is SULFURAS SMASH. Ragnaros hurls his hammer into the air, which lands in the target area after a short delay and deals damage. Enemies in the center of the impact take triple damage and are stunned.
- The second heroic ability is LAVA WAVE. Upon use, a lava wave starts moving along the selected lane from Ragnaros’ own citadel. It moves relatively slowly but deals massive damage. Enemy minions are instantly killed.
Ragnaros can currently be bought for 15,000 gold or 10 euros in the shop. In a few weeks, the price will be reduced to 10,000 gold – as soon as the (attention, pun) hot phase of Ragnaros is over.
Furthermore, the patch also introduced the festive gift goblin as part of the Winter Veil event, available through quests. New skins and package deals also await all those in the shop who want to spend a bit of money in Blizzard’s MOBA to shine with the new designs.
