Heroes of the Storm brings new maps and heroes. The StarCraft theme “The Machines of War” will begin soon.
The Koprulu Sector Invades the Nexus
During GamesCom, Blizzard is continuously releasing new information about upcoming content. There are also some innovations in Heroes of the Storm, as they are announcing “The Machines of War,” similar to the earlier “Eternal Conflict.” During this phase, much of the game revolves around StarCraft.
Fans can look forward to the new Protoss Alarak, who should already be known to players of “Legacy of the Void.” The leader of the Taldarim brings along his Photon Blades and red lightning, which in the trailer only slightly remind one of a dark Sith Emperor.
The second new character will be the Russian heroine Zarya from Overwatch , who will likely take on the role of a tank in Heroes of the Storm as well. More detailed information about the play styles of both heroes is yet to come.
New Maps and Skins with the StarCraft Theme
The new maps waiting for players are Braxis Holdout and Warhead Junction, both clearly stemming from the StarCraft universe. While in Braxis Holdout, the Terrans fight against infested Terrans, it seems that Warhead Junction is more about mercenaries – initial in-game footage will bring certainty.
In addition to these gameplay innovations, there is also plenty of cosmetics. Kerrigan gets the “Queen of the Ghosts” skin, Rexxar suits up in Space Marine armor, and the Butcher disguises himself as Zerg.
There is no specific schedule for the release yet. However, if Blizzard continues in its usual rhythm, we can expect Alarak in about 3-4 weeks.
