Medivh is ready for Heroes of the Storm. Now you can admire his “Spotlight” video.
The Last Guardian Medivh Enters the Nexus
Several weeks have passed since the release of the last hero, Chromie. It’s time for the next character to enter the Nexus of Heroes of the Storm. The newcomer is a rather prominent mage from the Warcraft universe, none other than Medivh, the last Guardian of Tirisfal. As a specialist, he primarily focuses on giving his team a tactical advantage.
Let’s take a quick look at his abilities.
- The passive ability Raven Form replaces Medivh’s mount. Instead, he can transform into a raven, which increases his speed by 15%. In Raven Form, he is invulnerable and can fly over all obstacles, making him a perfect spy.
- Arcane Rift fires a projectile in a straight line that deals moderate damage to all enemies it touches. If the projectile hits an enemy hero, the cooldown is drastically reduced.
- A pure defensive ability is Willpower. An allied hero is briefly protected from all damage and is invulnerable for a few moments. This perfectly intercepts enemy heroic abilities.
- Also purely supportive is Portal. As the name suggests, Medivh creates two portals – one at his feet and one at the target location. For a few seconds, allies can use the portals to travel back and forth between the two locations.
- Medivh’s first heroic ability is Transformation Bomb. An enemy hero is transformed into a helpless sheep. After the effect wears off, it jumps to another hero in range – as long as there is still a hero in range.
- The second heroic ability is Ley Line Seal. The mage sends out a wave of arcane power in a straight line that puts all hit enemies into stasis temporarily, thus removing them from combat.
To master Medivh, it’s necessary to anticipate the opponent’s abilities correctly in order to initiate appropriate counters at the right moment.
Medivh will appear next week, probably late in the evening on June 14th.
