The orc warlock, Gul’dan has arrived on the test server of Heroes of the Storm – his spotlight video is available too!
A Warlock from World of Warcraft
After the greatest mage of all time, Medivh, recently wandered into the Nexus, now the most devious orc of all time is also heading into the strange battlefields of Heroes of the Storm. Gul’dan, who led the Horde through the dark portal and is responsible for the invasion of the orcs into Azeroth, can currently be tried out on the test server.
Let’s take a quick look at his abilities:
- Life Tap is Gul’dan’s trait. The warlock does not regenerate mana naturally. Instead, he can sacrifice health points to restore a portion of his mana.
- Demonic Flame sends fel fire in a cone in front of Gul’dan, dealing damage to all enemies hit.
- With Life Steal, Gul’dan drains health points from an opponent over 3 seconds, gaining them as HP himself. The spell ends if Gul’dan is stunned or the target moves out of range.
- With Corruption, Gul’dan creates 3 small circles in quick succession in a straight line, dealing damage to enemies hit over 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times.
- The first heroic ability is Horror. After a short delay, all enemies in a medium-sized target area take minor damage and are feared for 2 seconds.
- The second heroic ability is Rain of Destruction. In a large target area, meteors rain down at random locations over 7 seconds, causing significant damage. Gul’dan must channel this ability.
Moreover, Blizzard has also released the “Spotlight” video to showcase the mechanics of the character along with his backstory in motion.
Although no firm date has been announced for Gul’dan’s release yet, July 13 seems like a very likely date.
