Blizzard unlocks the quests for newcomers of Heroes of the Storm earlier – and offers particularly simple tasks.
An easier entry for newcomers
Those who want to enter the world of MOBAs as a newcomer may not always find it easy. Numerous characters must be memorized, abilities and mechanics understood – and Heroes of the Storm is no exception. However, the accompanying systems, such as quests and rewards, can also present a hurdle for new players.
Particularly frustrating for many newcomers was that quests were only unlocked at a certain level. While friends always talked about completing quests that provide them with gold, beginners had to complete several levels before the quests were accessible.
In summary, the planned changes can be outlined as follows: All players will receive a quest starting from account level 1, where they have to “complete 3 games”. This is the first and only quest that players receive at level 1. Afterwards, other quests will be added daily, such as “Play 3 games as an Assassin”. From level 11 onwards, the old “Play 3 games” quest will disappear and can no longer be obtained thereafter. It will be replaced by the already known “Play 8 games” mission.
The goal behind these changes is to make the entry into Heroes of the Storm as easy as possible. Particularly extensive quests with difficult objectives might scare off newcomers, as the moments of success and rewards remain absent.
However, from level 11 onwards, everything remains as usual – then the grace period ends and the “seriousness of the Nexus” awaits the players.
