In Heroes of the Storm, the community is listened to and some player wishes are fulfilled to ease coordination.
Cooldowns at the Push of a Button
A coming update for Heroes of the Storm addresses some small details that fans have been wishing for quite some time. The changes aim to improve the game’s eSport viability and ease communication between players in a match.
The most important innovation for players is that cooldowns can now be announced through the chat system. By holding down the ALT key while clicking on an ability, the remaining cooldown will now be announced in the group chat.

This allows the team to quickly signal how long it will take until the heroic ability is available again. It becomes clear whether to engage in the impending team fight or not.
The click is also context-sensitive, showing how many charges are available for abilities with multiple charges. Alternatively, by using ALT and mouse click on their own health or mana bar, the team can be immediately signaled about the health or mana status.

The second notable change is the increase in spectator slots. Currently, only two players can participate in a match. This number will be raised to six in the future. This is expected to provide advantages, especially in the field of eSports, with multilingual streams benefiting from this.
