In Heroes of the Storm you will soon be able to commend friends and foes when they have achieved special feats.
Special Recognition for Special Feats
A few days ago, we reported that Blizzard wants to introduce a commendation system in Heroes of the Storm, similar to what is found in Overwatch. A second look confirms what the first already suggested: It will be exactly like in Overwatch.
Blizzard once again adopts ideas from its own games to improve existing systems.
In plain language, this means that players will see a series of “cards” at the end of a match, displaying the outstanding achievements of players. All players (friends and foes) can then cast their vote for the player they considered the most important in that match.
Regarding the already known categories, Blizzard has mentioned some additional examples:
- Talent Scout: Captured the most mercenary camps.
- Bulwark: Took the most damage as a Warrior hero.
- Cannon Master: Dealt the most damage to the Fort’s structures.
- Treasure Hunter: Turned in the most coins in Blackheart’s Bay.
- Anesthetist: Achieved the longest combined crowd control duration on enemy heroes.
It is thus obvious that the selected “cards” at the end of a match depend not only on the different roles (Tank, Support, Assassin, Specialist) but also relate to the respective map.
However, the entire system brings no gameplay benefit, just like in Overwatch. There are no rewards given for receiving a particularly high number of commendations. It is solely about appreciating other players who have performed well.
Completely independent of this, the game names a character as the “MVP” after each round, who stands out due to their combined performance.
