Soon a new hero might enter the Nexus of Heroes of the Storm – is it the Alliance King Varian Wrynn?
Varian Wrynn – from one chaos to the next
The plans for the near future of Heroes of the Storm have actually already been revealed. First, the Protoss Alarak enters the Nexus, followed by Zarya from Overwatch, to serve the game as a new tank.
But what comes next? Data miners have extracted an image that at least gives a first hint as to which character, after the two mentioned above, could also land in the Nexus. But let’s first take a look at the said image:
In general, this image doesn’t seem to reveal much – a volcanic eruption with a strange fortress in front of it, whose architecture is difficult to associate with a specific Blizzard title. The actual hint lies in the filename of the image, as it reads “homescreenbackground_varian_rails”.
The fans didn’t take long to associate the standout word “Varian” with the King of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn. This character would likely appear as a warrior while bringing along his two swords, known from so many cinematics and battles.
(World of Warcraft spoiler): At least in terms of timing, the release of Varian in Heroes of the Storm would make perfect sense. After all, the King of Stormwind dies in the introductory experience of Legion and could thus live on not only in the hearts of the players but also in another game.
So far, this is all just speculation and a single image does not make a hero. As soon as there is a concrete announcement or at least further hints about the legendary warrior from World of Warcraft, we will report on it.
