Dustin Browder revealed some details about the future of Heroes of the Storm on his Twitter account. Will there be a StarCraft event? When can heroes be banned?
No more StarCraft maps this year
Currently, a lot is changing in Heroes of the Storm. After the new hero Rexxar was unleashed in the Nexus last night, fans are wondering what will come next. On his Twitter account, the Game Director of HotS, Dustin Browder, has answered many fan questions in recent days and did not only choose PR-friendly topics.
On one hand, it has been confirmed that there will be no StarCraft event for the release of Legacy of the Void, even though some heroes from Blizzard’s sci-fi universe will be joining the Nexus soon. Fans will also have to wait in vain for new StarCraft-style maps this year, as this simply cannot be realized with the current schedule, especially since creating the visual elements takes too much time.
Banning in the League and issues with larger groups
Furthermore, Browder also spoke about the possibility of banning certain heroes in ranked games. With a future patch, it will be possible to block selected heroes and thus deny them to both teams – quite similar to how it is already done in other MOBAs.
A fan complained that he could only play quick match games with his three friends since the hero league was recently made exclusively available to solo players and 2-man groups. Browder himself is not satisfied with this development (as he usually plays with 2-3 friends) and hopes to address this issue in the future.
