That video games evoke in gamers the desire to transfer a bit of their beloved characters into the real world is no longer a major novelty. But who doesn’t have the urge to throw their money at someone when looking at these Heroes of the Storm figures? Particularly the Stealth Nova, Kerrigan, and dear Mr. Lich King would look great on any desk. Annoyingly (or very cleverly), one buys images of their favorite heroes “blindly.” So you only know what you have acquired when you open the package. Collectors of the figures from “Funko” should probably wait until they can specifically buy individual heroes – or say goodbye to a large stack of cash.
In America, “Amiibos” Are Particularly Popular
Nintendo had a special trick up its sleeve some time ago when it introduced the Amiibo figures. Those who connect them with the interface of their Wii U gamepad or the New Nintendo 3DS unlock certain functions in some games. A physical “Mario” figure, for example, allows you to level up and train your own Mario in “Super Smash Bros.” Naysayers might claim that the Amiibo figures are just glorified USB sticks with dolls on them, but the rapid sell-out of the first edition certainly proved Nintendo right.
