Heroes of the Storm wants to become more attractive for Overwatch players. Therefore, in the second quest of the Nexus Challenge, there is the Officer D.Va Skin. You can now win it in Heroes of the Storm by participating in the Nexus Challenge.
Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch are two fundamentally different games, but they now share some of the coolest heroes, such as Tracer, Genji, Zarya, and the soon-to-come D.Va.
With a cool skin for D.Va, Blizzard is currently enticing Overwatch players to Heroes of the Storm.
Heroes of the Storm – Nexus Challenge – Get Oni-Genji and D.Va as Policewoman
The “Nexus Challenge Event” is primarily aimed at Overwatch players who also want to venture into new games. The basic concept is: Play and earn stuff in HotS and Overwatch that you would never get otherwise.
The rewards will be unlocked in stages. Since April 24, you can already win the cool Oni skin for Genji in Overwatch if you play five HotS games (even against AI) with a friend. This week, the fun continues.
This time you have to compete against other players
If you have completed the first quest with Genji AND have played five more games together with a friend, you will be rewarded with the cool Officer D.Va skin in Overwatch as well as a police hoverbike in HotS.
This time you have to compete against other players. It’s no longer enough to “just” play against the AI to fulfill the Nexus Challenge and grab the skins.
Overwatch players on PS4 and Xbox One without access to a PC and HotS will also be able to get the skins. However, that will take some time.
Heroes of the Storm – Nexus Challenge – What the future holds
Overall, the Nexus Challenges will continue until May 22, 2017. By then, you can complete the quests for Genji and D.Va, and the following quests will also be available later:
- From May 8: Play another 5 games against other players with a friend and receive an Overwatch logo mount, Officer D.Va banner, spray paint, and portrait for Heroes of the Storm. You will also get the banner and the spray paint for Overwatch.
- From May 15: After another 5 games against other players with a friend, you will receive 10 loot boxes each in Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm.
Heroes of the Storm – Nexus Challenge – Be nice and helpful!
The point of the whole action is of course promotion for Heroes of the Storm and attracting Overwatch players. Therefore, there will be an increased influx of players in the Nexus who may have never played a MOBA before and only want the Overwatch loot.
But many of these players might quite enjoy the game and remain loyal to HotS. So as experienced players of Heroes of the Storm, be helpful and patient with the newcomers, and do not troll or flame them if they do not immediately grasp the map mechanics or make mistakes. In the end, HotS can only benefit from gaining new players!
