A clever player has discovered a secret in Overwatch. We reveal here why hamsters are learning to sing.
Although the Wrecking Ball (known to everyone as Hammond) has been available as a playable hero in Overwatch for quite some time, the community continues to find new secrets and little Easter eggs. Recently, a detail was discovered that has captured the hearts of fans.
What is the Easter egg? The newcomer Hammond, the genetically enhanced hamster from the Horizon lunar base, might not be able to speak, but that doesn’t stop him from singing. On the map Dorado, he can “sing along” to the Overwatch melody and sounds incredibly excited. Apparently, Hammond is also a big fan of Overwatch.
How does the Easter egg work? To trigger the secret voice line, you need to play as an attacker on the Dorado map. In the first spawn area, choose Wrecking Ball as a hero. Then, you have to shoot in the correct order at four of the bells hanging in the garden. You need to play the melody of Overwatch. The exact shooting order can be seen in the video above.
Other heroes, by the way, do not react to this sequence of bells. So far, it seems that only Hammond responds to it, although some players are looking for other combinations to get other heroes to sing as well.
Cortyn says: I am more surprised by the fact that there are more than three bells in Dorado than by the Easter egg. I have been playing since the beta and have shot at the bells so often, but I never realized that there are more than just the three in the middle. Nevertheless, a great Easter egg – I hope the community finds more of them.
What do you think of this Easter egg? Does it make little Hammond even more lovable? Or can you not relate to the hamster at all?
The latest patch of Overwatch also brought a new map – Busan.
