Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters – For those who want to play the elite
If you want to gain insight into the Chapter structure of the Adeptus Astartes, Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters is an ideal choice. Here you do not just play any Space Marines, but the Grey Knights, a secret Chapter filled with the best warriors from all Chapters.
Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters is a turn-based tactical/strategy game in the XCOM style, in which you guide a squad of four units through missions against Chaos corruption. Since the Grey Knights themselves are considered elite even among the Astartes, you can see what these super soldiers are truly capable of. You have access to various classes, such as:
- Assault Marines with jetpacks and melee weapons
- Devastators with heavy weapons for ranged combat
- Psykers with powerful magic
- Contemptor Dreadnoughts, the “deceased” Marines in an armed super coffin
- even some human assassins, if you own the appropriate DLC
In battle, you can see how the Grey Knights fight against their Nurgle-corrupted brothers and demons – foes that can be formidable and even deadly opponents for Space Marines.
As a special treat, you will learn not only more about the Grey Knights and their strengths in Chaos Gate, but also about other organizations of the Imperium such as Adeptus Mechanicus and the Inquisition – both crucial entities: The Imperium in Warhammer 40,000 is not just “lame humans” – Here are its 6 most dangerous organizations
