Rank 1: Sanguinius (Blood Angels)
Among the loyalists, Sanguinius holds the undisputed top spot in terms of combat power. He has fought and won against the same blood demon twice, one of the greater demons of Khorne, who are regarded as the best and fiercest fighters.
Horus Lupercal, the one who would later almost destroy the Imperium, is said to have even feared Sanguinius as the only one of his brothers. Furthermore, Horus considered Sanguinius better suited to lead the crusade than himself.
In battle against Horus, who had already been empowered by Chaos at that time, Sanguinius almost achieved victory despite his severe injuries. Had Horus not been completely corrupted at that time, Sanguinius would have won.
Aside from being an excellent fighter and physically superior to most other Primarchs, he also had a tremendous advantage: as an immensely powerful psyker, he could partially foresee the future. He already knew how he would die, namely by Horus’ hand—though not exactly under what circumstances or when. This ability often gave him the upper hand in combat and war.
His arsenal also included the spear of Telesto, a weapon that supposedly vaporized anyone who did not carry Sanguinius’ blood. Even the celebrity Warhammer nerd Henry Cavill considers Sanguinius the strongest Primarch and names the Blood Angels as one of his favorite chapters (via TikTok).
Sanguinius was not only an outstanding fighter but is also regarded as the most charismatic and best-looking among the Primarchs—partly because he literally looked like an angel. He owed that to a mutation, for which others would probably have been executed.
