Nott the Brave – “without a comma” (Sam Riegel)

Nott is a goblin girl who tends to stay in the shadows. She is aware that goblins are not welcome in many places and therefore wears a half-mask that hides her mouth and sharp teeth when she is around people. She is extremely agile and skilled, but also quickly becomes nervous and frantic. Additionally, she has an almost insatiable thirst for alcohol, which can help suppress her kleptomaniac tendencies.
Nott hopes to find a solution to a personal problem with her connection to Caleb and eventually to the Mighty Nein, a problem she probably could never handle alone – especially Caleb’s magic seems to give her hope.
Although Nott initially comes across as mischievous and a bit odd, it quickly becomes clear that she is merely trying to survive in this cruel world by behaving inconspicuously. She finds it difficult to build trust, yet in the Mighty Nein she discovers a new purpose that allows her to change her destructive tendencies and care for others.
