Helldivers 2: Server Down – Players Reported an Outage
What was the problem? On Reddit and on the official Discord server of Helldivers 2, players reported that on this day, March 13, the servers of the shooter are down. Players were then greeted in the game again with the message “Login limit reached”.
Why the servers were down is not known in detail. However, on Discord, the developers announced that they are aware of the login issues.
What is the current server status? The problem seems to be resolved as we were able to successfully log in to Helldivers 2 again at 12:40 PM.
Helldivers 2: Server Capacity – This is how high the login limit is
How many players fit on the servers? Arrowhead, the development studio behind Helldivers 2, announced on February 23 on the official Discord server of the game that they limit the server capacity to 700,000 players. Previously, the upper limit for the number of players allowed on the servers was 450,000.
By increasing the server capacity, Arrowhead aims to further improve server stability and hopes to make waiting times more pleasant.
Can you check the server status of Helldivers 2?
If you see the message “Login limit reached,” you can assume that there are currently about 700,000 players playing Helldivers 2 according to the established upper limit, and the server capacity has been reached.
Unfortunately, there is no official report on what the server status looks like or how many players of you are in the queue. However, we can look at the player counts on Steam.
What are the player counts on Steam?

The player counts on Steam can also give insight into the PS5 player numbers when the limit has already been reached. For example, if 400,000 players are online on Steam, then there must be about 300,000 additional players online on PS5.
What are the player counts on PS5? The number of players online on PS5 cannot be verified, as there is no corresponding official counter.
Helldivers 2 Black Screen at Startup – Is there a connection to the player limit?
What is the issue with the black screen? Some players reported in the past that they experienced a black screen when starting Helldivers 2 and the game subsequently did not proceed.
Some users suspected that this was a bug related to the reached server capacity. Instead of the screen indicating that the login limit has been reached, a black screen would be displayed in this case.
However, this was just a theory from the community, and there was no confirmation for it. Furthermore, the black screen issue seems to have been resolved by now.
