The developers of Helldivers 2 have announced their next major expansion “Into the Unjust.” The Helldivers will head to the home worlds of the bugs, who have previously fallen out of favor with the Over-Earth government. The expansion is set to launch on September 2, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox.
However, the planets have been under the control of the Termites for so long that they have been completely transformed, presenting a new challenge for the soldiers.

What can players expect from the Termites? The bugs have made themselves comfortable on their home worlds and have altered them to their liking through terraforming. The bugs have dug tunnels that they use for their purposes, which you now need to breach in order to defeat them.
The tunnels are dark, and the ceiling prevents support via spaceship. Consequently, soldiers must equip themselves beforehand and hope for small holes in the ceiling to allow for resupply.
In the darkness, the use of flashlights becomes more important. The developers explain in a video that Helldivers should equip themselves in such a way that some use weaker weapons but provide light. Others, on the other hand, resort to heavier weapons for more firepower, but then rely on their teammates for illumination.
Additionally, there are supposed to be new mission types. You must penetrate deep into the tunnel systems and ignite a hell bomb to heavily damage the bug worlds. Another mission has you using a mobile drilling unit to mine for valuable Termite oil for Over-Earth.
Bugs can now dig in
What about new enemies? On the home worlds of the Termites, you will encounter new and altered foes that will cause trouble for the brave soldiers.
Some bugs like the “Acid Spitter” now dig into advantageous positions to attack players from there. The powerful “Chargers” now burrow through the earth to avoid being easily attacked during their assault.
A new enemy, the “Dragon Roach,” joins in, circling over the heads of the Helldivers like a dragon. Instead of breathing fire, he spits acidic bug slime on the heroes of Over-Earth.
The developers also hinted at an additional large enemy in the video, but what monster it is remains unknown.
Are there also fitting weapons for that? Yes, with the launch of “Into the Unjust,” the developers are also bringing a new War Bond to the shop. In line with the theme, you will be able to equip yourself with new weapons such as a mobile napalm rocket launcher, a spear cannon, and a mobile rocket silo. There will also be new skins, emotes, and armor available at the “Dust Devils” War Bond.
For players on Xbox, this expansion will be the first major one they can experience as active players. The last major add-on was about aliens threatening Over-Earth, and the entire player base had to work together to save the world.
