The meta-game in Helldivers 2 is in full swing. After the loss of the last general command, players now have a new goal to pursue with all their might.
Why are they trying to liberate the planet? After losing the battle for the last planet, players of Helldivers 2 received new orders. The new general command, which promises players 45 medals, concerns planet Veld.
When the order for Veld reaches the players, the situation on the planet is dire, as a terminid outbreak threatens democracy. The players’ task now is to free Veld from the bugs.

Humans must step up to conquer the planet
What is the status of the battle for Veld? At a rate of 7% per hour, the terminids (the bugs) are conquering the planet. It quickly became clear to the humans that action must be taken here, or democracy is in danger.
A mobilization of players was organized through Discord and Reddit to stop the terminids. Compared to the last general command, this is only about a single planet. However, to conquer the planet, around 300,000 players are needed, at least according to the community’s estimates.
Some time after up to 180,000 players were thrown against the bugs according to the community, the success of the bugs seemed to wane. The community believes that Game Master Joel has his fingers in the pie and is pleased with the opportunity to conquer the planet. However, they have not yet been able to mobilize 300,000 players.
What does the situation look like now? Currently, the conquest of planet Veld seems to be progressing well. According to Helldivers.io, the humans will be able to celebrate the success of the conquest tomorrow morning. Currently, about 122,000 players are on Veld fighting for democracy (as of March 1, 12:00 PM).
Of course, the speed may change if more players complete operations on the planet – or if Game Master Joel sends reinforcements to the bugs.
Meanwhile, things do not look so good on the other planets. Here, humans are losing on almost all fronts. A war is also raging on the other side of the universe. One player believes to have figured out what the robots’ objective is.
