Okay, let’s be honest: Most spells in Hearthstone are disliked by everyone. This is more due to their mechanics, which can turn a won game into a loss. There is hardly anything to complain about their visual effects – they are entertaining and pleasant to look at. However, it is hard to recognize how much effort and attention to detail really goes into the individual animations.
A video from YouTuber Legend Stuff has recorded a series of effects in slow motion to present them better. What sounds boring is actually beautiful to watch and fits perfectly with the music:
I believe such videos would benefit other games too; at least I am very interested in such details and all too often the effects and graphics are hardly appreciated. Especially in Hearthstone, this is very pronounced, where almost every move is associated with stress – and one focuses on the numbers, not on the animations around.
