The changes to Hearthstone’s card packs are live – the card packs are becoming more rewarding. And old packs are back for purchase!
A few weeks ago, we reported that Hearthstone plans to implement major changes to the card packs. Exactly these changes are now live! Blizzard has decided to activate the updates “as early as possible” and not wait until the release of Knights of the Frozen Throne. In plain terms, this means the following things:
- As long as players do not have all legendary cards from an expansion, they cannot receive duplicates of those legendary cards. That means the days of pulling 7 Neptulons from packs are over!
- A single card pack can no longer contain more copies of the same cards than can be played in a deck (2 for common, rare, and epic, 1 for legendary).
“Wild” card sets and adventures available again in the shop
At the same time, players can finally complete their collections. All “old” card packs are available again. This includes the following expansions:
- Goblins vs Gnomes (2.99€ – 2 packs)
- The Grand Tournament (2.99€ – 2 packs)
It might also be worthwhile to purchase the adventures. These not only bring new cards that can be used in the “wild” mode but also the associated PvE missions with all their tricky puzzles and cool story elements.
The following adventures are available for purchase again:
- The Black Temple (24.99€)
- Curse of Naxxramas (24.99€)
- The League of Explorers (19.99€)
Card packs and adventures from the “old” sets still have the same price as before. This is also logical because all cards use the same type of Arcane Dust to craft new cards.
Keep in mind that the old packs and adventures are only available in the Blizzard shop (Link to the Blizzard shop page) and not in the in-game shop.
On Reddit and social media, there are already numerous comments from players praising all the changes in this update. Opening card packs is now significantly more rewarding and exciting than before – and that’s exactly what Blizzard aimed to achieve.
