As is customary with new expansions for HearthStone, new cards are gradually revealed in the weeks leading up to the release. The effect is, of course, that it only heightens the anticipation for the upcoming expansion “Blackrock” – which is no surprise with these cards!
Last week, two new cards were introduced. The “Dragon Egg” costs just 1 mana and is, with its 0/2 stats, initially useless – until it takes damage. Because then it summons a 2/1 Whelpling every time. It will definitely fit nicely in warrior decks that want to play a bit faster.

The “Dragon Sorcerer” offers relatively good stats of 3/5 for 4 mana, but receives +1/+1 every time its owner enchants it with a spell. A “Blessing of Kings” becomes significantly more valuable as a result, but even a “Mark of the Wild” gains in significance. I won’t even start on the countless priest buffs…

The new class card of the mage will be the “Flame Wielder“, who distributes 2×1 damage to random enemies each time he casts one of his own spells. Basically the juggling knife in a mana frenzy or the shadow boxer on arcane dust.

Hunters receive the new “Core Beastmaster“, who is already relatively solid with its mana cost of 4 and stats of 4/4. However, its Battlecry ensures that it gains another +3/+3 if the hunter’s hand is now empty. Rush decks that simply want to “discard cards” will likely benefit from this.

Warlocks are excited about new additions to the demon selection, the “Boss of the Imp Gang” is already quite well-equipped with its 2/4 for 3 mana, but also summons a 1/1 Imp whenever it takes damage. In the worst case, at least once upon its death, and in the best case, significantly more often.

It’s exciting to see what Blizzard still has to offer for the other classes!
