In Blizzard’s online card game Hearthstone , there’s a new trend: Similar to chess puzzles, players are now supposed to figure out if they can see the decisive move in a certain situation.
Newspapers often have chess problems alongside crosswords and sudokus on their puzzle pages. Usually, it’s about how many moves it takes to win from a given position. Someone has put in the effort to create and present such a scenario in Hearthstone.
The situation is tricky. The priest has stolen some cards from the opposing druid. The druid is only at 6 HP, and the priest has a 6/6 minion ready to attack on the field, but the druid has two hefty taunts … hmmm! Can you find the right card sequence for “checkmate in one move?”
