Blizzard asks players about their Hearthstone preferences and brings new ideas to the table.
Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone was a massive hit back in the day and remains very popular today. However, there are still several areas where Hearthstone falls short compared to physical card games – such as a 2vs2 mode.
As a user reported on Reddit, Blizzard has sent out a survey to some players to gauge various interests of the player base.
The survey includes some interesting questions regarding various (potential) features of Hearthstone. Respondents were able to indicate whether they view certain aspects as “unimportant,” “nice to have,” or “high priority”:
- More chat features
- Offline mode
- More customization options for characters, cards, etc.
- Better ways to play with friends
- Guilds/Clans
- A new mode to play “double matches”
- More in-game assistance for deck building
- A new tournament mode
- Better matchmaking based on owned cards, etc.
- A (better) tutorial
- A campaign mode
- Better ways to make new friends in the game
Interesting are the questions surrounding the “new” standard mode. Here it even asks whether one finds the mode good or just sees it as a new way for Blizzard to earn more money.
Cortyn says: Whether any of the mentioned features from the surveys will be developed is certainly questionable. Personally, I would be very excited about a team mode or a fully-fledged campaign, but I don’t believe we will see much happening in that regard before the end of 2017. However, I am firmly expecting that we will see the next expansion at BlizzCon, which will probably be released just a few weeks later. At the very least, Blizzard did something very similar last year.
