How to Defeat Professor Putricide (Professor Plaguebringer) in Hearthstone
The second boss is Professor Putricide, who is already known in World of Warcraft for his three terribly challenging phases. In Hearthstone, he also has three phases, which will give players a tough time. Each phase comes with a new hero power from the opponent that affects the entire game.
- Phase 1: All secrets cost 0 mana.
- Phase 2: All weapons cost 1 mana.
- Phase 3: All cards cost 5 mana.
He has plenty of secrets in his deck that you need to play carefully around. You don’t have to worry about Explosive Traps; he doesn’t use those. Otherwise, he has packed all the annoying things: Ice Trap, Cat Trick, Snipe, Frost Clone, Mirror Image, Counterspell, Dust Devil, Avenger, Kodohide, and Holy Wrath.
Two Secret Keepers are essential to defeat the Doctor.
The Doctor changes phases when you have removed 15 armor points (which he regains in Phase 2).
A solid Mage deck seems to be the easiest solution here, as it can quickly eliminate large threats such as Fauldarm and Rotting Mire, which is important after the phase change. Once Rotting Mire is defeated, the fight becomes significantly easier and almost won. Gluttonous Slime makes short work of the Doctor’s weapons, so they no longer pose a threat.
