Hearthstone: The Great Tournament starts today [Update: It is starting]

In the online card game Hearthstone , the new expansion “The Grand Tournament” starts today on August 24th.

132 fresh cards will be in circulation in Hearthstone from today. However, the exact release time is not yet known. Only the release date is known, Monday, August 24th, with no exact time yet.

Players should not expect any gifts at the start of the Grand Tournament, by the way. Unlike some previous launches, nothing is planned this time, according to Blizzard. The expansion basically works by introducing a new type of “card pack” into the game, which contains 5 of the 132 new cards.

A “special offer” from Blizzard to purchase 50 card packs for €45 has already caused some excitement. That is quite a price tag that many find too high for “just a card game,” especially since there are no “smaller offers” available, just the jumbo pack.

Update: There is information from the Spanish Twitter account for Hearthstone. They say it will start “at the earliest” at 7:00 PM.
