The Streets of Gadgetzan is full of cool cards. We show you our favorites from the Hearthstone addon.
So shortly after the release of the Hearthstone expansion “The Streets of Gadgetzan”, it is difficult to have really well-founded opinions about the 132 new cards. Cortyn has nonetheless taken a closer look at all the cards and selected his 5 favorites. The reasons are… sometimes strange in nature.
With 5/5 for 5 mana, the Cabal Shadow Priest fills a nice niche for priests and also has a Silence effect. After priests were rather mocked in the last expansion with “Purifiers”, the Shadow Priest is a Silence effect that will probably be seen more often – especially in Arena, it could appear often as a “common” card. I will definitely try to find use for the card in the “normal” game mode.
(P.S: Why does he have a golden frog in his hands?)
Cabal Lackey is not exactly a groundbreaking innovation for warlocks with its 6/6 for 6 mana, considering things like Hellfire, but the card has other advantages. It is theoretically the only chance to get a whole army of succubi (if you are not versed in Blood Rituals).
At the end of each turn, you get a random demon in your hand. This includes everything from Illidan to Jaraxxus and of course my succubi. And who wouldn’t want that?
While we are talking about an army of succubi: Krul the Unchained (7/9 for 9 mana) brings all demons to the battlefield at once. It seems that warlocks finally get a relatively playable “demon-only” variant that I have been wishing for a long time.
Whether this is really worth it will be shown in the coming days. But the artwork is great. More freedom for demons!
A naga pirate. This is so absurdly ridiculous and at the same time so brilliant that I just had to include the card in my list. Seriously.
No idea if the Nagapirate with 5/4 for 4 mana will pay off, but warrior decks could definitely consider her. And just the stat distribution is already quite decent to pick her in the arena – even without a weapon. Maybe a pirate rogue deck can be built…
Lastly, I chose Madame Goya. She is for me an “Alarm-O-Bot”, just better. While she pulls a minion from the deck and not from the hand – and therefore has an even greater random factor – who hasn’t always wanted to put Reno Jackson back into the deck (to draw him again) and trade him for a cute Ragnaros?
Sure, this can also backfire and waste a powerful Battlecry, but this very risk appeals to me.
But enough about our favorites. Which cards from the expansion do you really like and why? Or do you disagree on some points? Let us know in the comments!
