For many years, Angelina Johnson fights as a Chaser for her team. With her efficient playing style, she reliably scores goals for Gryffindor.
Commentator Lee Jordan celebrates her for her extraordinary control and sharp focus, describing her play strategy as top-notch.
She takes Quidditch almost as seriously as team captain Oliver Wood. It’s no wonder then that she takes on this challenging role after Wood leaves.
Place 6: Oliver Wood
- Position: Keeper
- Title: Captain; Substitute player for “Eintracht Pfützensee”
For Oliver Wood, nothing is more important than Quidditch. He is the captain of the Gryffindor team and takes his job very seriously.
However, this can sometimes impact the safety of his teammates. Professor McGonagall reprimands him, for example, for getting his priorities wrong. He cares more about winning than about Harry staying alive.
Nonetheless, he is a true Quidditch expert. In his final year, he was able to secure the Quidditch cup with his team. Even after school, he pursued his passion further.
He was recruited by the team “Eintracht Pfützensee” (originally: Puddlemere United) as a substitute player. The name may sound a bit funny, but it is in fact the oldest team in the British and Irish Quidditch League, which by the way, Dumbledore has a special fondness for.
Place 5: Charlie Weasley
- Position: Seeker
- Title: Captain
Charlie Weasley is the second oldest son of Molly and Arthur. However, he never appears in the films.
His brother Percy describes him as “more of an outdoors kind of guy”. Because he is very athletic and also has a particular fascination for magical creatures.
He also showcased his athletic talent at Hogwarts. He was Quidditch captain and won several trophies with his team. He had so much talent that according to Oliver Wood, “he could have played for England if he hadn’t gone dragon hunting.”
Place 4: Harry Potter
- Position: Seeker
- Title: Captain; “youngest Seeker in a hundred years”
Harry’s talent for Quidditch is recognized early on. As the “youngest Seeker in a hundred years”, he joins Gryffindor’s Quidditch team in his first year.
He has only ever lost two games – once due to the Dementors and once because he was hit by a Bludger thrown by Cormac McLaggen.
In all games under normal circumstances, he repeatedly demonstrates his impressive flying skills and unique agility. It’s no wonder that he was appointed team captain in his sixth year.
Despite his impressive skills, he narrowly misses out on a podium position in this ranking. Because three characters have impressed us even more:
