Rank 1: Harry Arrives at the Dursleys

No matter how dark, suspenseful, and action-packed the later parts may be, nothing beats the wonderfully nostalgic feeling of watching the first Harry Potter film. And this applies to the opening scene as well.
An old, bearded wizard in a pointy hat, disappearing lights. A cat transforming into a human. A half-giant on a flying motorcycle. What more could one want?
The scene perfectly captures that classic “Harry Potter” feeling. Our normal, somewhat dull Muggle world meets these quirky yet lovable magical characters. The scene is a little bit of everything: funny, tragic, mysterious, and sad. It is not super action-packed or nerve-wracking, but still magical.
Overall, one could hardly imagine a better start for the series. It is accompanied by the famous “Harry Potter” melody and ends with the iconic zoom on Harry’s lightning scar.
Thus, we end the ranking as promised with the first words of the film, spoken by none other than Albus Dumbledore: I should have known you were here, Professor McGonagall.
