The announcement of a new “Harry Potter” series divided fans. While some are looking forward to new content, others cannot imagine the story without the familiar actors. Now, Daniel Radcliffe, the actor of Harry Potter, has a clear message.
What do we know about the new series? For a long time, speculation about a possible “Harry Potter” series was rampant. In April of last year, it was actually officially announced.
- Content: The series is supposed to consist of a total of 7 seasons, with each season adapting a volume of the book series.
- Release: The series is expected to premiere in 2026 on the streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max). In Germany, it will presumably be available on WOW, as is customary for HBO series. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
- Runtime: Within 10 years, all 7 seasons are to be produced. Not least so that the young actors remain at the right age.

“I have a piece of advice”
The announcement of a remake of Harry Potter did not meet with enthusiasm from everyone. Especially fans who grew up with the films can hardly imagine different actors in the well-known roles. The casting of the golden trio – Harry, Ron, and Hermione – is especially debated.
In an interview with ET Magazine, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe was asked if he had any good advice for his potential successor. But he declines. Instead, he addresses all viewers with an urgent plea:
I have a piece of advice for everyone else. Just let them be kids despite everything! I can’t imagine how it would have been to do all this in the age of social media. We were just a little earlier.
Because more than ever before, stars, and thus of course child stars, are today subjected to constant observation and judgment from the outside. On social media, anyone can express their hatred comfortably from their couch, which can have a negative long-term impact on children.
Finally, Radcliffe adds that he might indeed have a piece of advice for his successor but will not reveal it.
Hopefully, I will meet the person one day myself, whoever he will be. And then I can give him the advice face to face.
