A Minecraft player takes it to extreme feats in hardcore mode. His pyramid consumes over 125,000 blocks of sandstone.
When one sets a construction project in Minecraft, one usually follows through – even if it becomes much larger than planned and consumes more resources than one can actually spare. But putting over 125,000 blocks into a single project is something that only a few would attempt – because that requires endurance and the courage to see it through in hardcore mode.
What did the player do? Evoker_1 built a massive pyramid measuring 256×256 blocks. He used sandstone as the material and quite a lot of it. The project consumed a proud 125,000 sandstone blocks.
The pyramid is so big that Evoker_1 even has a hard time capturing it all in one picture while flying around it with elytra:
What is so special about it? The sheer amount of resources needed to build the outer wall of the pyramid is mind-boggling. 125,000 blocks are over 1950 stacks of sandstone – or over 54 times the entire inventory full of sandstone.
Besides the sheer size of the pyramid, it is also notable that Evoker_1 apparently accomplished this in a survival hardcore world. In that world, one only has access to the resources one has mined oneself. Additionally, the pyramid was built in a “hardcore” world. Here, the player has only one life – if he dies, he can no longer play in that world and it will be locked.
How do other players react: The community in the Minecraft subreddit is quite enthusiastic about the construction but has quite a few other points to note. Not only is the sheer number of sandstone blocks impressive, but so is the crowning touch of netherite blocks. After all, netherite is one of the rarest resources in the game and just the top of the pyramid requires a whopping 96 stacks of ancient debris.
The whole endeavor is rewarded with a whopping 36,000 upvotes – a lot for the Minecraft subreddit. There are comments like:
- “Damn, this whole world is fantastic! The fact that you did this in hardcore mode is the cherry on top.”
- “I love that it all thematically fits the desert and then suddenly there’s an X-WING and an AT-AT, lmao.”
- “I don’t know how you can muster the courage to use an elytra in hardcore mode.”
