In Fortnite the Halloween event “Fortnitmares” (Nightmares) starts today, October 26th. Both in the PvP mode “Battle Royale” and in the PvE version “Save the World”, there are scary tilesets, items, and costumes.
Until recently, it was unclear when the Halloween event in Fortnite would start, but now the cat is out of the bag and there is a date. Halloween starts today, October 26th, and brings even crazier content to Epic Games’ colorful survival coop battle royale game. The “Horde Challenge Event” is now over. Halloween lasts until November 4th!
The PvP mode Battle Royale also celebrates Halloween
Halloween is not just a theme for the PvE mode of Fortnite. The PvP mode Battle Royale also has new content for Halloween.
First, there are the leaderboards and seasons that come with the new update. You can now compete with other players and track your achievements on the list. At the end of each season, there are special rewards, depending on how well you did.
In addition, you can now purchase cosmetic items in the game with the currency V-Bucks and customize your avatar. The new Halloween skins fit particularly well. You can indeed start the battle as a Skull or Ghoul Trooper. Furthermore, the rocket launcher has a new “Pumpkin Launcher” skin, the pickaxe is a creepy scythe, and a new healing item called “Slurp Juice” provides healing over time.
Also cool: The controls on consoles have been improved. You now have significantly less input delay and can switch the aim mode on and off at the push of a button. Previously, you had to hold down the aim button continuously.
New Halloween map “Hexsylvania” in PvE mode
Even more Halloween action is available in the PvE mode of Fortnite. There you can explore the new map “Hexsylvania”. The following features are waiting for you:
- 36 new quests
- New enemy “Pumpkin Head”
- New monster “Vampire Swarm”
- New llamas containing Halloween items that must be bought with candy, the new event currency
- New survivors with Halloween costumes
- New hero skins in Halloween style
- New weapons like the Pumpkin Thrower or the Assault Rifle “Gravedigger”
- New traps
