Baldur’s Gate 3 is now 2 years old and to celebrate this birthday, Larian released new statistics about the behavior of their player base, some of which were expected, but others are even more impressive.
What facts has Larian released now? On August 4, 2025, Larian published a community update with birthday greetings and new statistics, fitting for the second anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3.
In these statistics, they share that 265 million mods have been downloaded so far (of which 250,000 equipped the famous Withers with ample bosom), that almost no one has managed to earn 100 gold legally as a bard, and more exciting information about player behavior that you can read on Steam.
Larian also reports that nearly half a million players have managed to conquer the game’s hardest mode, the Honour Mode. “That’s another 314,090 new traumatized souls compared to last year. Hopefully, you enjoy pain,” the studio writes about it.
However, there is a very small fraction of players, just 4,647, which is less than 1%, who still found the challenge of the Honour Mode not difficult enough – and they faced an incredible and truly impressive challenge: They completed a whole playthrough in Honour Mode using just one character at level 1.

When the hardest mode of the game is still too easy
What have the players achieved? The Honour Mode means that you must not suffer a single “TPK” (“Total Party Kill”). At the same time, the difficulty is significantly increased, and powerful bosses receive legendary actions that make the battles even more challenging.
4,647 players actually managed to conquer this mode by using a completely unlevelled character, and only that one character. How they achieved this? Larian does not want to reveal in its statistics. However, this challenge is already reminiscent of stories from the Soulslike community.
What other information could be gleaned from the statistics? Of the mentioned 500,000 conquerors of the Honour Modes, 31,180 players managed to complete their playthroughs as a “Jack of All Trades”, which is also an extremely strong achievement.
As a Jack of All Trades, you must take a new class with each level, which means you have to forgo a real build. As the face of the party, however, this can become extremely interesting, as it unlocks many different dialogue options.
Even after 2 years, Baldur’s Gate 3 remains a game that rewards particularly high community engagement.
