The battle royale online shooter H1Z1 King of the Kill has recently been surpassed on Steam by competitor PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Now H1Z1 strikes back with a huge update that brings new game modes, additional points on the map, and improved inventory and crafting.
H1Z1 King of the Kill is the PvP offshoot of the zombie survival game H1Z1 Just Survive. In a battle royale, you fight against a bunch of other players in the post-zombie apocalypse. The game has performed well so far, but in recent weeks it has faced tough competition in the form of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The “other battle royale game” has recently even overtaken King of the Kill on Steam.
However, King of the Kill is not resting and has released a big update that brings many changes.
H1Z1 King of the Kill – Skirmish mode and better weapons
As a top feature of the update, the popular skirmish mode returns. These are special matches that have their own, weekly changing rules. The first skirmish will be called “Shotties & Snipers”. In this, only the namesake shotguns and sniper rifles are allowed, which should either lead to shootouts at very close or very long distances.
Shotguns particularly benefit from a weapon upgrade. From now on, the game places shots from shotguns more compactly, leading to reliable shooting. Additionally, you can now always fire your weapons regardless of how close you are to cover or another object. Furthermore, there are three new points of interest on the map, each catering to a different playstyle: house combat, fast-paced action, and camping in buildings.
H1Z1 King of the Kill – Better crafting and inventory
So far, the crafting screen and inventory of King of the Kill have been confusing and not very accessible. That has changed with the update. You can now display all crates at once and thus selectively choose what you need.
